About the series:
Join the Librarian as he does his best to make the post-apocalyptic world a better place by protecting the weak, fighting injustice, squaring off against a group of former renaissance fair workers who have established a kingdom in the Rocky Mountains, and so on. Can one man make a difference in the face of such murderous cannibals and super smart bears? Probably not.
It’s the end of the world as you’ve never known it in this laugh-out-loud look at the apocalypse that readers are calling “Mad Max meets Monty Python” and “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Wasteland.

Pretty good read although I don't see anything about Duck & Cover. Maybe they come along later in the next book.

I picked this book because I saw a couple of references to Douglas Adams and Hitchhiker's Guide and Monty Python and "laugh out loud funny." Well, maybe in an alternate universe... There were a couple of lines or quips that made me smile, some cultural references that were funny, but definitely not laugh out loud. This is a good post-apocalyptic romp, but there is a lot of fear and tears and gore and violence and blood. Lots of killing... Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed the book, but it certainly wasn't what I expected. Hitchhiker's Guide is one of my favorite books, but i can't see any comparison. However, it was a clever mystery and made me want to get another dog. I am continuing the series, but I have a better idea about what to expect.

Post-Apocalyptic Nomadic Warriors is a funny take on the post-apocalyptic genre. There's a good story and while it develops, Wallace entertains us with a satiric take on our own world through the post-apocalyptic lens. This is dry humor, ala Monty Python or Douglas Adams; lots of great banter and understatement. The hero, Jerry the Librarian, is unassuming but resourceful enough to ply his trade among the huddling survivors. Story 4, Craft 5, Humor 4.
