This series is hilarious and a great read! Duck and Cover Adventures is an excellent addition to my collection.
I finished all six books in the “Duck & Cover Adventure” series by Benjamin Wallace! I’m currently reading “Tales of the Apocalypse” by the same author. This book is a collection of short stories that provide more background into the characters we encountered during the original series. These books were fun to read. It’s a comedic take on life after “The Crapening.” A lot of action, a fair bit of drama, loss, and twists. There’s a lot of subtle humor and some outright hilarity. I would definitely say that book 5 was my favorite of the series. I really enjoyed the boat trip down the Mississippi River from Hannibal Missouri to Cairo Illinois, and beyond. River pirates, River monsters, a really cool vision of a post-apocalyptic St. Louis! Anyway, if you’re looking for adventure with some humor, violence, love, loss, lawlessness, backstabbing, and a heroic character who is just trying to help people, then you should check this out.
Absolutely great series. Can’t put them down on book 4 and the story line gets better with each book! Can’t recommend it enough.
Easy read with great characters.
I listened to the complete Apocalyptic Warrior series and cannot recommend these books enough! Each storyline was better than the last. They had me laughing out loud, neglecting chores and ignoring phone calls! The narration by Phil Thron was excellent.

I'm reading the second book of the series at the moment. The first book introduced The Librarian and their adventures are epic! The second book has taken a turn and is a rollercoaster of events. So much fun! My son is already waiting for the second book, so I have to read faster. LOL
Mental candy. Just absurd enough to keep you interested while downplaying the wasteland tropes from days of yore.

Enjoyed the "Duck and Cover" series. It did seem a little slow at first, however the story got better as the series continued. There are some bits of humor woven into the post-apocalyptic narrative. I am glad i discovered Benjamin Wallace. 👍

4 Stars I picked this book because I saw a couple of references to Douglas Adams and Hitchhiker's Guide and Monty Python and "laugh out loud funny." Well, maybe in an alternate universe... There were a couple of lines or quips that made me smile, some cultural references that were funny, but definitely not laugh out loud. This is a good post-apocalyptic romp, but there is a lot of fear and tears and gore and violence and blood. Lots of killing... Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed the book, but it certainly wasn't what I expected. Hitchhiker's Guide is one of my favorite books, but i can't see any comparison. However, it was a clever mystery and made me want to get another dog. I am continuing the series, but I have a better idea about what to expect.

4 Stars Post-Apocalyptic Nomadic Warriors is a funny take on the post-apocalyptic genre. There's a good story and while it develops, Wallace entertains us with a satiric take on our own world through the post-apocalyptic lens. This is dry humor, ala Monty Python or Douglas Adams; lots of great banter and understatement. The hero, Jerry the Librarian, is unassuming but resourceful enough to ply his trade among the huddling survivors. Story 4, Craft 5, Humor 4.
5 Stars Great read. The apocalypse with Super Smart Bears. Who knew the apocalypse had exciting fight scenes, humor, and super smart bears.

5 Stars I got hooked on Benjamin Wallace's writing in Dad's Vs Zombies. As good as this book was, and it was, this one blew it out of the park. Excellent. Easily one of my favorite books, ever. Tons of action, plenty of laughs scattered throughout, cool characters all the way around. What a fabulous read. I can't wait to read the others.

5 Stars The end of the world as we know it is not the end of the world. Karma has a sense of humor. Everybody needs a hero and sometimes the one you need isn't the one you want. In a world where might makes right, up is down, and expect to unexpected , you need a hero. This is the tale of that hero. One that you can relate to. So read the story, become a fan, be prepared to enjoy the end of world.
